May 8th, 2012 Recap

HOA President called meeting to order at 7:05pm.

City of Charlotte Code Enforcement stopped by to introduce themselves and provided us with information as to how they can assist us in the community.

HOA DUES/TREASUER REPORT –
John gave a VERY brief report on the state of our HOA and says WE ARE GOOD! Most of the community is current with dues and the few that aren’t have either expressed that they will be catching up soon or are being pursued legally.

HOA NEIGHBORHOOD GRANT –
Andi gave a nice update on the grant approval. We received, as an HOA. 14k from the city this quarter to help beautify our front entrance. The process involves adding irrigation, better lighting and general cleanup around both signs. We need to acquire over 175 hours in volunteer help to cover our end of the bargain! Please help us if you can by doing some basic cleanup / landscaping of the front area. Contact Andi for a time when you can help.

NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS –
Excessive or extended overnight parking and parking in unsafe locations. Folks need to be aware of the restrictions in McCarron because we are taking more proactive steps to keep the streets clear. Speeders need to SLOW DOWN!! We have to many kids playing and they don’t always pay the best attention when out and about. We are looking to place speed limit signs and slow signs throughout the area.

YARD OF THE YEAR! – $100 to the best yard as voted by your board (board members excluded!) Voting will take place first weekend in August.

COMMUNITY YARD SALE – The second weekend in August, we will be having a neighborhood yardsale / cleanup. Sell what you can or donate to good will. We will also make available a large dumpster for trash and old items that need to be thrown out! The HOA will make a strong effort to advertise the yardsale to attract as many folks as possible.
